Supported formats: CSV, PDF, XLS, XLSX, OFX • 3 pages free, no signupRetyping a client's bank statement into QuickBooks is the least billable hour in bookkeeping. Statement to Budget reads the PDF — text layer or scanned — extracts every line, tags each as money in or money out, checks the totals against the statement, and hands you a file QuickBooks imports without column mapping. Upload one statement or a month of client work at once.
QuickBooks Online 4-column CSV: Date, Description, Credit, Debit
QuickBooks Desktop Web Connect (.qbo) with stable transaction ids, so re-imports do not duplicate
Debits and credits reconciled to the statement totals before you download
Batch upload: several statements, several banks, one download
Scanned, password-protected and bilingual statements supported
Also exports Xero CSV, OFX, Excel and plain CSV
How it works
1. Upload the statements
Drop one PDF or a batch. Enter the password if the bank set one. 3 pages are free with no account.
2. Check the rows
Every line appears with its date, description, amount and direction. Spending is categorised as a bonus; deposits and fees are kept as-is.
3. Download for QuickBooks
Pick QuickBooks Online CSV or QuickBooks Desktop .qbo from the export menu, then import in QuickBooks.
Frequently asked questions
Which QuickBooks import format should I use?
QuickBooks Online accepts CSV: use the QuickBooks Online CSV export, which is the 4-column layout (Date, Description, Credit, Debit) QuickBooks reads without column mapping. QuickBooks Desktop uses Web Connect (.qbo): use the QuickBooks Desktop (.qbo) export and open it from File → Utilities → Import → Web Connect Files.
Does it include deposits and credits, or just spending?
Every line on the statement: purchases, fees, interest, deposits, transfers, refunds and reversals, each tagged as money in or money out. Totals are checked against the statement so the import balances first time.
Can I upload several client statements at once?
Yes. Drop a batch of PDFs — different banks, different months — and download one file per batch or per statement. Password-protected and scanned statements are supported.
How much does it cost?
Try 3 pages free with no signup. A single statement unlocks for $4.99. Pro is $29/month for 400 pages; Bookkeeper is $79/month for 1,500 pages with API access. Roughly a statement is 2–8 pages.
Is client data safe?
Statements are processed over an encrypted connection and the uploaded files are deleted after extraction. Extracted rows are kept for 30 days so you can re-download, then removed. We do not sell or share data.
What about Xero, Sage or other software?
The Xero CSV export matches Xero's manual bank statement import, and the OFX export imports into Sage, FreshBooks, Wave, MYOB, Zoho Books and most others. Excel and plain CSV are always available too.
