How to Convert an Emirates NBD Statement to Excel

Convert an Emirates NBD PDF to Excel, including AED amounts, bilingual layouts, and password-protected e-statements.

Emirates NBD statements are bilingual, use AED, and often arrive as a password-protected PDF. Most US-built converters assume English and USD and fail here. This is the path that works.

Download the statement from Emirates NBD

  1. Sign in to Emirates NBD online banking or the ENBD X app.

  2. Open the account (current, savings, or credit card).

  3. Go to Statements / e-Statements.

  4. Download the PDF for the month you want.

If the email attachment is encrypted, the password is usually a customer identifier the bank already sent (often part of your card or account number). Keep that password; you will need it to open the file.

What makes ENBD statements different

  • AED (and sometimes foreign-currency lines). Amounts should stay in dirhams. Do not silently convert to USD.

  • Arabic and English. Merchant names and headers can appear in either language, or both.

  • Debit and credit in one column. Some layouts collapse the two. A good extractor reconciles against the statement's debit total instead of guessing the sign.

  • Password-protected PDFs. Common for emailed statements. A converter has to decrypt before it can read the text layer.

If your statement is a scan of a paper printout, you need OCR on the page images, not a text scrape.

Convert the ENBD PDF to Excel

  1. Open statementtobudget.com/emirates-nbd-statement-to-excel.

  2. Upload the PDF. If it is locked, enter the password when asked.

  3. Check the extracted rows: dates, merchant text, and AED amounts.

  4. Export Excel, or use the dashboard to set a budget in the same currency as the statement.

After conversion

Group spend into the usual buckets (housing, transport, groceries, dining, school fees, subscriptions). In the Gulf, school fees, housing, and travel often dominate. Use the real AED totals as next month's starting point, not a USD template.

If you hold accounts at more than one bank, convert each statement separately, then combine the Excel files. Do not mix AED and USD in one column without a currency label.
